I know the world is full of skeptics and non believers out there – and this is just one little experience, MY experience.. but, I have to say … I believe in the power of the craft.

My fascination with Chinese astrology started years ago, mostly due to a language and culture I completely did not understand or connect with… I was fascinated by this secret society I was so clearly not a part of… Coming from an Irish background, superstition was somewhat engrained into my soul, and Chinese astrology is full of superstitions and beliefs.  Over the years, I picked up the odd thing… like  “If a lion winks at you during the CNY parade its good luck” – I found myself purposely putting myself in front of the lion… begging for a wink to bless my year ahead… I wanted a piece of what ever it was this secret society had that I didn’t!

I purchased and read countless books on the subject, thinking/ hoping I could be self taught, but what I found was that I simply had more questions… even “Feng Shui for Dummies” left me dumbfounded. There were just too many pieces to the puzzle, elements, animals and directions – not to mention position of the moon and mercury retrograde!! Oy Vey!

As with most areas of my life, something needs to push.. NO.. PIN me against a wall face first in order to get me to take action.  My ship was going down and sinking fast in many areas of my life… So I decided WTF – why not try… just 1 thing?  So I googled “ How to Attract Wealth & Abundance using Feng Shui” and gave me this:

“Feng shui aquariums are a beautiful and potent feng shui cure to attract the energy of wealth and abundance. Placed right, and taken care of wisely, they will amplify the energy in any home or office and attract more wealth Chi.

Aquariums are auspicious because they bring a harmonious combination of several wealth attracting feng shui factors, as well as a perfect balance of all 5 feng shui elements:

  • Feng Shui Water element (the water in the aquarium)
  • Feng Shui Wood element (the plants in the aquarium)
  • Feng Shui Metal element (in the aquarium structure)
  • Feng Shui Earth element (the small rocks and gravel at the bottom of the aquarium)
  • Feng Shui Fire element ( red, orange and gold yellow colors of the fish, as well as the aquarium lighting.)

The best area to place your feng shui aquarium is in the Southeast (the feng shui Wealth and Abundance area) followed by North (Career) or East (Health and Family.)“

So I did it! I bought a tank, live plants, gravel and a gorgeous little Beta fish, (affectionately named “Muffin”) for my experiment. I placed him in the southeast area of my office and guess what? Literally that same day I secured a new client… Coincidence? MAYBE… but I decided to educate myself a little more and conduct more experiments – I mean really…what did I have to lose?

I ended up finding and enrolling in a Feng Shui for Life course put on by a local Vancouver BC company Trensetta Designs. After completing the course, I felt much more educated, yet still unclear on some of the different areas and how I could get them to really work specifically for ME, my issues / areas of life.  I took a gamble and hired a Feng Shui Master for an in house & office consultation.

He personalized the consultation to me (based on my date and year of birth) and made recommendations for areas of my home and office related to the specific areas I wanted to work on – mainly Career & Wealth.

RESULTS WERE IMMEDIATE!! I honestly could not believe it! “Move this here, add a candle there, put the colour red along the Southwest wall, add a metal element in the North sector, hang a photo of the Eiffel Tower on this door… change the position of your bed”… these types of things – simple, easy things to implement. THE VERY NEXT DAY…. 3 bookings were CANCELLED!! What!? That has never happened – 3 in 1 day!? Something went horribly wrong…   Coincidence? MAYBE?

I called back the Master and he immediately returned to re-evaluate the space/situation.  He uncovered, that although I was located on the 9th floor of a condo development, a portion of the building was built up, housing a pool only 4 levels below.  Moving my bed into a position heading this direction literally drained my wealth and career opportunities! (Apparently 4 floors of separation were too close but 9 floors away would have been alright!) within a few days I had secured 4 NEW major jobs/clients!! Coincidence?? WHO CARES.. I am hooked.

Moving into the Year of The Water Snake, I am now armed and educated with several fixes and enhancers for an excellent year ahead!

Results – TBD, but I am feeling hopeful.
